As part of our module, Futureproof personal development, we worked for a salon in Singapore named 'Urbanhair' to promote their launch and assure people of the safe and clean environment they have during the covid times.
@urbanhair
We were given three months to choose a theme and create social media posts and videos for them. For the first few days, we worked on some recommendations for the website, a minimalistic social media feed, a reworked logo, and a short video portraying the hygienic environment and care at the salon. But, on meeting with the urban hair marketing team, we were told to make some changes as per their need, so we worked on an out-of-the-box idea for their social media pages.
For their Instagram feed, we took inspiration from the fashion world to create a look-book of hairstyles. The posts are in gifs showing hairstyles depending upon the different vibes of the person with a moving background. Hair-related memes with the 'friends' theme were also added as it was the talk of the town due to the reunion. Storyboarding for a video campaign showcasing the literal meaning of our motto "let the hair do the talking" is also a part of it. A fun questionnaire is also made that helps people know their hairstyle depending on the choices they make.
We are hoping to get our ideas approved very soon and get the opportunity to work with them.
This experience provided me with a new, exciting and practical approach to learning which will be helpful in my future career. Although being the only student in the group studying online and not being able to visit the salon and have face-to-face conversations did prove to be difficult, but taught me to work in any and every situation.
