We often say that history repeats itself, and that’s the same case with fashion as well. The fashion cycle also shows that each product, after its rejection makes a comeback. Trends and styles once considered modern and in-style become old and out of style, only to be launched and re-worn years later. In today’s blog, we will discuss how the 90’s fashion is making a comeback in the ’20s. This blog proves the validity of the fashion cycle as well as teaches us the new upcoming trends that can be relevant to a stylist.

The 90’s fashion was iconic. It was defined by minimalism in contrast with elaborate and flashy trends. Casual-chic outfits like t-shirts, jeans, hoodies, and sneakers were popularised during this era and are continued to be worn.

Today, women are picking elements from the ’90s and embracing them by mixing those classics with modern looks. Trends like crop tops and mini backpacks are coming back and are spotted on influential celebrities as well. Although, wearing vintage fashion trends can be tricky. Women need to have their take on the look and rework it with modern styles to keep their outfits trendy and relevant.

The trends that we see making a comeback are -

  1. Flared Jeans - These are the go-to denim style that is perfect for casual daywear but at the same time can be rocked at night with crop tops too..

  2. Denim Dungarees - This sleeveless denim outfit was considered a staple for farmers but has made a comeback as a must-have casual, comfortable garment.

  3. Crop tops - Baring the midriff was the top favorite in the ’90s and are now the street style staple and a top choice among celebrities.

  4. Baggy Bottoms - Baggy joggers or wide-leg jeans providing comfort with style is the new way of living and working.

Despite these clothing trends, accessories such as hoop earrings, minimalist jewelry, scrunchies, and combat boots have also made a comeback, and we hope they are here to stay.
