As a stylist, despite the obvious task of putting together an outfit, one can learn and do a lot more. Learning various skills like illustrating, video editing, set designing, managing, etc., can always help me excel further.
I believe that learning never stops. No matter how experienced or how old, one should keep learning and exploring. So here I am sharing my experience of learning something as basic as video editing.
Previously I wrongly believed that editing a video was easy as it was merging different images. But with time, I realized I was greatly mistaken and saw the effort one has to put in. I experimented with user-friendly self-explanatory apps like Inshot and Triller. These apps were easy to use, and I could create basic videos with voiceovers and sound on them. But I knew that wouldn’t suffice as a noted skill.

This was when my friend, who is a professional videographer and editor, introduced me to iMovie. iMovie is a video editing software app developed by Apple for its products. Using Apple products, I had it all this while but never paid any heed towards it until now. Initially, I found the app a little difficult to use. Adding music, editing placements, transitioning among different videos, there was so much to do. So I took it gradually, I learned my basics from youtube and was taught the confusing advanced stuff by my friend and brother. Honestly, it is not as difficult as I assumed and does not compromise the video quality, which are significant plus points.
Hopefully, I can say that I can edit myself a rather average video and have to learn a lot more in the same field..
